FOLSE had another fantastic year. Thanks to the continued support of the FOLSE Board and our many volunteers we were able to sponsor Book Sales, Community Conversations, and to keep the Book Shop open almost everyday. I thank you for your continued commitment to these endeavors. The support given for our newest project was overwhelming, our Treasure Sale was a big success. It was a great deal of work for Thirza Conway and her committee and I thank them. They are already looking forward to the next one, so save your treasures, more information will be coming. Judy Wright and her dedicated Book Shop volunteers had the Book Shop open almost everyday. I can not thank Judy and her group enough for their commitment to the Shop. Due to the effort of our many Friends we are able to continue providing financial support for the many wonderful programs the Southeast Branch Library staff provides for the patrons of all ages. Please don't forget to mark your calendar for our Annual Meeting on January 10th. There are important items on the agenda. The Board is recommending some By-Law changes which must be voted on at a general meeting by the FOLSE membership . We will also be conducting elections for four seats on the Friend's Board: President, Vice President, and two Board of Directors seats are up for election. Information should be arriving shortly in the mail with a complete agenda . It will again be a mix of business and social, so please come and mingle with other Friends.
I want to take this opportunity to thank three ladies who are leaving our Board on the 10th. Jackie Colicci, Sue Sellers, and Judy Dodge have been key players in all that has gone on in FOLSE.
They will be missed on the Board, but will continue to share their various areas of expertise as Friends. They are stepping down from the Board but will remain active members of the Friends.

December 8, 2011Surprise Christmas Book SaleCheck out the special book sale this weekend, Friday and Saturday, December 9th and 10th. Lots of great books to give for Christmas gifts including fiction, military history, other non-fiction, general interest, books with a Christmas theme and more. There is always something for everyone at a FOLSE book sale. See ya there!
